The discount can vary depending on the time of the year and type of car. For certain car models, the multi-day discount can be more than 30%.
Choose “Pay Now” vs. “Pay On Arrival” for Blue Car Rental Discount
Another way to maximize your Blue Car Rental discounts with no coupon code required is to choose the “Pay Now Refundable” option at checkout. Although, Blue Car Rental will charge your card at checkout, this option is 100% refundable. Blue Car Rental’s cancellation policy is at least 24 hours prior to the rental for a full refund. By choosing the “Pay Now Refundable” option, you save an additional 2% on top of our 5% OFF your Blue Car Rental reservation.
With the “Pay On Arrival” option, Blue Car Rental does not charge you anything. But, your reservation price will be 2% higher compared to the “Pay Now Refundable” option. One thing to keep in mind though is exchange rates for the “Pay Now Refundable” option. Blue Car Rental charges its customers in Icelandic Króna. So, depending on where the foreign exchange rate moves, you may get more or less money in your domestic currency.
For instance, suppose you booked your Blue Car Rental reservation on December 12, 2023 for your upcoming trip. At that time, the exchange rate for $1 USD was ISK139.63. Your reservation’s total price was ISK100,000 or $716 charged to your credit card on December 12.
On March 7, 2024, you had an emergency and cancelled your Blue Car Rental reservation. The exchange rate on that day was ISK135.50 per $1 USD. In other words, Icelandic Króna appreciated (or US dollar depreciated). You still got ISK100,000 back. But, they are worth more in US dollars, namely $738.
Of course, the converse is true. If the Icelandic Króna had depreciated relative to US dollar, you would have gotten less than $716.
