Reopened in 2024, the Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge is one of the best lounges at the Washington DC Dulles IAD airport. In this lounge review, we cover all you need to know if you’re planning a visit there.
We went to the Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge twice during breakfast and lunch times. Here, not only do they have buffet style food, but you can also order food and drinks via their website app. The lounge staff will bring your order to your table.
Chase Sapphire Etihad Lounge: General Information

The location of this Chase Sapphire Etihad lounge is near gate A14 at concourse A.
Chase Sapphire Etihad Lounge Layout
The Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge is quite spacious and has two floors. Etihad airlines are known for offering luxury amenities for their guests. The first floor has many seats together with a bar which serves wine and cocktails.

The first floor continues further where you can get a variety of buffet style food and drinks.

There is also a second floor, which is a quiet area.

That second floor carries only dessert and various types of flavored, plain and carbonated waters.
Their facilities are top notch and they even have complimentary showers that you can book at the lounge.

Breakfast Review
The Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge serves breakfast from 6am to 10:30am. Here you can see their full menu with several items that you can order through their website app. We will show that in a bit.

Some of their dishes had a Middle Eastern flavor, such as their shakshuka and curry potatoes.

But, they also offered some standard dishes, such as a yoghurt parfait, overnight oats, Brioche French toast and cheese plate.

The drink offering was also quite robust together with other breakfast regulars such as croissants, bread, jams and fruit.

We love their cappuccino. But, what’s crazy about this lounge is that they had a choice of cappuccino with either regular or oat milk. We rarely see that. All of their food was super delicious. But, our all-time favorites were their Shakshuka and brioche French toast.
Online Ordering for Breakfast
Besides buffet food, you can order a meal via their website app. First, you scan a bar code with your phone at your table.

This will bring up their menu. You have several food items to order here. Besides food, you can get wine, cocktails and beer. The ordering process is straightforward and it takes no time for them to bring your order.

We ordered the Salmon benedict and it was pretty good.

We also tried their signature cocktails and wine. They were of quality above what a standard airport lounge serves you. They even had champagne too. At some point, even their chef came out and asked the customers how their food was.
Lunch Review at Chase Sapphire Etihad Lounge (IAD)
The second time we came to the Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge was for lunch. They had chicken tagine, lamb meatballs and curry cauliflower at the first half of buffet.

The second half had a muhammara plate, shrimp salad and pesto burrata. Almost all dishes in the buffet were from the Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine.

Again, everything was super delicious, especially their burrata dish that came along with pickled pepper.

Online Ordering for Lunch
As for their menu to order, here is what they had on that day: noodles, burger and fries on brioche, vegetarian burger and tomato and fennel soup along with some other side dishes. We ordered their burger, which conveniently had several options, such as adding or removing certain food items (e.g. cheese, arugula) or make it well-done. The burger was super delicious and done just right.

They also had a few dessert items, such as brownies and a lemon cake. While that’s all they had, it was more than enough and very delicious. They also had biscotti left from breakfast on the first floor by their drinks station.

Alcoholic Beverages (Cocktails, Wine) from Bar
We also tried their alcoholic beverages during lunch. Here is their menu.

We really liked their signature Sapphire cocktail made with Brooklyn gin, various berries, spices and fancy pearl dust. It was our most favorite drink of them all.

For some reason, you cannot order drinks from the second floor, only from the first floor. But, you can always order it from the bar in person and bring it up to the second floor, which we did.
Overall, we had a super positive experience at the Etihad Chase Sapphire lounge when we went there twice. Their staff was super attentive, courteous and always ready to serve and help you.
